SYSTEM OF CONTROL OVER OPERATING AREA ATMOSPHERE
Work with liquid carbon dioxide is associated with danger of suffocation and loss of consciousness of station maintenance personnel in case of its increased concentration in the operating area atmosphere.
In this case, safety labour conditions for personnel are provided by necessary design solutions, permanent analysis of atmosphere, and connected system of ventilation.
System of control over operating area atmosphere is designed for continuous control over maximum allowable concentrations of oxygen and carbon dioxide gas in the operating area.
If emergency value of oxygen volume ratio is 19.5% or carbon dioxide volume ratio is 1%, the system will give a signal on actuation of emergency fans with sound-and-light signal. If value of oxygen volume ratio is 17%, the signal “Gas! Keep out” will actuate on the light display.
The standard specification includes two sensors-gas analyzers (O2 and CO2) and two single-channel power and alarm units. Alarm units possess digital display with continuously indication of percentage of gases to be measured.
All components of the system possess necessary approval documents (declaration of conformity, permit for use, and certificate of measuring device type).
System of control over operating area atmosphere is designed for each facility individually in CA (complex automation) project section.
